Soulmate West Hollywood
Chef Wes Whitsell has named his soon-to-open West Hollywood restaurant Soulmate. The former Gjelina and Manuela chef aims to bring bold flavors of Texas to California’s Design District. The opening date has yet to be announced, but the restaurant is already in the works. The menu will focus on Tex-Mex, and the chef hopes to introduce some California cuisine to those who love to experiment with bold flavors.
Soulmate is a new Spanish and Mediterranean restaurant in West Hollywood, featuring a large patio and expansive indoor dining areas. The restaurant was designed by Kelly Architects and features antique mirror-colored glass on the walls and shelves. The restaurant opened early in May. Previously, Soulmate featured the culinary talent of Wes Whitsell, who gained recognition as the chef of Manuela in LA. However, he left the restaurant in late 2017 to spend more time with family in his native Texas. He later returned to LA and began working at Pacifique.
